Hello. This time, I went to the completion event of the “Bath History Experience Building,” where you can experience a reproduction of the Goemon Bath as a footbath at the Ohatago Kashibaya, a nationally registered tangible cultural property in Fujieda City, which is one of the cultural properties that constitute a Japanese Heritage site~.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Incidentally, the “Ohatago Kashibaya” is a representative inn of Okabe-juku. Okabe-juku is the 21st inn on the 53 stations of the Tokaido and is currently located in Okabe-cho, Fujieda City, Shizuoka Prefecture. In fact, the inn was destroyed by fire twice in the past, so the current building is the third generation, built in 1836 at the end of the Edo period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event included a ribbon-cutting ceremony, which is typical of completion parties, and remarks by the guest of honor, followed by a look at the newly completed footbath.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While everyone was cutting the ribbon, I secretly changed into my costume and waited for the footbath.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unfortunately, it was raining and the temperature was low, so it was a perfect day for a footbath!
The boys who had come to play were also dusty.
They are the real customers No. 1 and No. 2, aren’t they?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The purpose of this footbath is to “experience the history of baths” and it will be available after April 2024. It looks like it can be used only with the admission fee to Ohatago Kashibaya.
