What is Tea Terrace Ichinose?

Shizuoka Prefecture is known for its tea production. Of course, Fujieda City is also a tea production area, and if you go up into the mountains, you can see vast tea plantations.
Tea Terrace Ichinose, which we visited this time, is a spot where you can relax and feel nature while overlooking such tea fields.

Tea Terrace Ichinose will open in April 2022. It is located in Setonoya, the headwaters of the Seto River, which flows between Fujieda and Yaizu cities.

Directions to Tea Terrace Ichinose

First, head from the city to Setonoya to the “Ichinose no Sato Tea Factory Co.

Be sure to drive your own car or rent a car!
After you register at the Ichinose no Sato Tea Factory Inc. you will have to drive up to the top of the mountain. So a private car or rental car is a must.

When we arrived at the Ichinose-no-sato tea factory, we were greeted by Mr. Mukojima, the person in charge. The president of the company was also there, so we asked him about his business.

After registering and paying here, you will be led by a truck and we will follow in the car.
We drove along a little mountain road and arrived at a spot with a spectacular view about 15 minutes later.

It was just the time of the tea harvest, so the area was covered with black cloth. This is said to block out the light and produce more chlorophyll, which increases the flavor and sweetness of the tea.

Like I said at the beginning, I was licking my chops, lol.
But when I went to the terrace and looked down, I mumbled I’m so sorry 💦.

And I can hear the birds singing like crazy 〜〜〜〜

While you are relaxing, Mr. Mukojima takes out a tea set and brews you a cup of tea.
At Tea Terrace Ichinose, you can enjoy a panoramic view of nature on the terrace while having tea and tea sweets.

First, a cup of tea with water. It is a welcome tea.

Well, it’s already great 、、、、 to have a cup of water-drizzled tea while enjoying this view!

After the welcome tea, you will be served a cup of warm tea using an unusual tea container.
Tea cakes are also served with the tea.

There seem to be many foreigners, and some of them had surprise marriage proposals here.
Isn’t that romantic!

Listening to Mr. Mukojima tell such interesting stories, drinking tea, feeling the breeze, and listening to the birds chirping. Ahhhhhh, luxury!

After a while, Mr. Mukaishima-san makes us some tea and then leaves.

After spending about an hour and a half on the terrace, we returned to the Ichinose-no-sato tea factory.
